Exports Surge by 25.51% in FY2022
The exports from the country saw an increase of 25.51 percent during the financial year 2021-22 as compared to the corresponding period of last year, as per the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
According to the released data, the exports from the country were seen at $31.760bn during July-June (2021-22) against the exports of $25.304bn recorded during July-June (2020-21), signifying growth of 25.51 percent.
It is pertinent to state that the imports during the year also surged by 41.93 percent by growing from $56.380bn last year to $80.019bn in July-June (2021-22).
Based on the data, the deficit in trade during the period under review was seen at $48.259 billion — an increase of 55.29 pc over the deficit of $31.076 billion recorded during last year.
Meanwhile, on a year-on-year basis, the country’s exports increased by 5.83 pc during June 2022 as compared to the exports of the same month of last year. The exports were recorded at $2.887bn against the exports of $2.728bn during the same month of last year.
The imports increased from $21.57bn in June 2021 to $7.722bn in June 2022, showing growth of 21.57 percent.
