SECP makes changes to REIT regulations
ISLAMABAD: The Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) on Tuesday amended the Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) regulations 2015, to boost investment in the real estate sector.
According to the details, SECP has developed a new regulatory framework for Public-Private Partnership (PPP) under REITs and also has devised a mechanism for boosting foreign investment in REITs.
Commenting on the new changes, the Chairman SECP, Amir Khan highlighted that the amendments have diminished all the hurdles tackled by potential investors in REITs.
The chairman was also of the view that the new changes have also made the documentation and paperwork easier for the new investors.
